These loaded chilli hot dogs might just be the perfect dinner idea, especially because they’re loaded with bbq chilli, cheese, and Honey Chipotle BBQ Sauce.

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 500g ground beef
- 250ml beef stock
- 250ml boiling water
- 4 hot dog sausages
- 4 hot dog buns
- 100g grated cheddar cheese
- 1 small handful jalapeños, sliced
- 1 tbsp chopped chives
-
1 jar Mother Tomato Simmer Sauce
-
3 tbsp Honey Chipotle BBQ Sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
Directions
Cook the Chilli
- Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon, and cook until browned, about 7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Pour in the Mother Tomato Simmer Sauce, beef stock, and boiling water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in Honey Chipotle BBQ Sauce and cook for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavours to deepen.
Cook the Hot Dogs
In a frying pan over medium heat, cook the hot dogs with a drizzle of Honey Chipotle BBQ Sauce, turning occasionally, until warmed through and caramelised, about 5 minutes.
Assemble & Serve
- Place each hot dog in a bun, then generously spoon over the chilli. Sprinkle with grated cheddar and bake in the oven at 180°C for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is perfectly melted.
Finish with jalapeños, chopped chives, and another drizzle of Honey Chipotle BBQ Sauce for extra smoky sweetness.
Recipe Note
Replace Honey Chipotle BBQ Sauce with Chipotle and Lime Aioli for a tangy and creamy hot dog.
