We’ve taken the gooey cookie we all know and love and added a splash of Original Hot Sauce to it, leaving you with just the right amount of heat. Don’t knock it ‘till you try it.
Ingredients
-
100g plain flour
-
25-30g cocoa powder
-
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
-
½ tsp salt
-
1 tsp ground cinnamon
-
55g unsalted butter (room temp)
-
150-155g (light) brown sugar
-
1 lrg egg (room temp)
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
Large handful of dark & white chocolate
-
2-4 tbsp Original Hot Sauce
Sugar Coating
-
White sugar
-
Ground cinnamon
-
Pinch of salt
Directions
Preheat your oven to 180c (350f / 160c fan).
In a medium bowl, whisk together: flour, cocoa, bicarb, salt & cinnamon. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the butter & brown sugar until light and fluffy (if using a hand mixer will be around 2-3 mins on medium-high). Add the egg, vanilla, and Original Hot Sauce - beat for another 2 mins until even lighter.
Add in the flour mixture and beat on low (fold in by hand if using no electrical aids) until well incorporated. Fold in the chopped chocolate well.
In a small bowl, mix together sugar coatings and set aside.
Spoon out 25-30g per cookie - roll into a ball & coat in the sugar/cinnamon mix. Place each ball onto a baking tray lined with grease proof paper (leaving enough room between balls to avoid touching while baking) - you may need more than 1 tray or do in batches.
Bake for 12-15 mins. Allow to cool on a rack before eating.
Recipe Note
These will last around a week at room temp in an airtight container, so prep them for the whole week!
