Your one-stop flavour drop. Fruity and hot. No messing around. You know that go-to hot sauce you're always reaching for? That's what this is. It’s hot, but not too hot, garlicky but not too garlicky and the perfect consistency for pouring over just about anything.

The first bottles of Original Hot Sauce were crafted in James and Pam's kitchen many moons ago. They had wanted to create a banging hot sauce that would go on everything, that didn't contain anything artificial.

Sauce Shop Original Hot Sauce only contains four ingredients... jalapeños, vinegar, salt and garlic. Nothing but flavour here, with no starches or gums in sight.

We barrel age our jalapenos to get that complex fruity flavour that makes our Original Hot Sauce so tasty. Lacto-fermenting our chillies (the same process used to make sauerkraut) gives an amazing depth of flavour that other hot sauces just don't have.

Planning a Mexican-style feast?? Make sure you have a bottle of Original Hot Sauce within reach. It's the perfect "pour-on" for fajitas, tacos, enchilladas and burritos. Add it to a grilled cheese sandwich or mix with mayo for a simple spicy pizza dip.

Fruity and punchy

I bought the original hot sauce, and the pineapple and habanero, both are fabulous!

Too salty and runny

Would be nice if it had a bit more of a kick and was a bit thicker and less salty

Thanks again for the review Jay, Original Hot Sauce is a more use-on-everything hot sauce. We've ranked it as 'hot' for the everyday user who likes a bit of heat, but for people who're used to lots of heat it's probably more towards a 'medium' heat sauce. There are only 4 ingredients in the recipe (Aged Red Jalapeno, White Grape Vinegar, Salt, Garlic) which is why you can probably taste those elements and why we lean into the fact you can really taste the garlic and some salt when eating it.

Build you own box!

These sauces are delicious. I bought a selection for my husband’s birthday (classic mid-30s gift) and he is very pleased. It’s great that you can build your own box rather than just get a set selection, means you can tailor it to the individual. Very well packaged and delivered swiftly. I’ll definitely be back for more.
